Full Moon May 12, 2025 at 12:56pm ET in Vishakha sidereal Libra: Branches of Becoming

In a degree of sidereal Libra whose name in Sanskrit means “forked” or “with many branches,” this “star of purpose” Full Moon reminds us that anything meaningful takes patience, determination and commitment. It directs our attention to the fork in the road asking us to choose with intention. Recent planetary energies have amplified this same theme: shifting gears, changing directions, and moving with clarity on our authentic path, collectively and individually.

We’ve moved through immense stress the last few months: multiple retrogrades creating tension and slow transits, eclipses affecting every planet, and planetary pileups. Though some of that intensity is waning, major shifts are still ahead: Jupiter (mid-May), the Nodes (end of May), and Mars (early June), which will sit with Ketu for 2 months (this could be intense, even volatile).

This Libra Full Moon matters as it magnifies balance. To attain this, we first must tune in to our agni: our inner fire, drive and stamina which affects our ability to move forward and be true to our journey. We gain confidence when we look deeper into Vishakha. Its symbolism of the triumphant archway or the potter’s wheel speak to success and encourage creation. Its ruling planets, Venus and Jupiter, the “cosmic coaches,” offer collaboration, generosity and encouragement. Right now, they’re in each other’s signs, amplifying support for the plans set into motion with this Full Moon. And Vishakha’s deities – Agni, the God of Fire, and Indra, the King of the Gods – offer us sustained energy and purpose. While this is a time and to trust the new path, to act with intention, and to move forward with clarity, we must be mindful of this Moon’s shadow side of overachievement: doing too much all at once can create expectation, tension, disappointment and exhaustion. This Moon can easily slip into the role of director and get triggered (“high pitta”) when things aren’t going as planned. We’re asked to be mindful of our interactions and reactions. Let’s make decisions purposefully, honor our pace and that of those we collaborate with.

Full Moon prompts:

🌕How is your energy and focus?

🌕Are you lit up with motivation, or burned out and running on fumes?

🌕How have you been engaging in a sustainable way?

🌕How do you want to feel moving forward?

🌕What changes are happening around you?

🌕What new paths are taking shape?

🌕What steps have you taken towards this new direction?

🌕What are the next steps you will take?
