General Planetary Remedies - FREE download!
One of the most empowering aspects of Vedic Astrology is the usage of planetary remedies. We can easily support planets in our charts- and therefore the areas they govern in our lives - by aligning with the planets in a number of ways: by wearing gemstones associated with the planet, eating specific foods, wearing certain colors, chanting planetary mantras, connecting with certain deities, people and activities on a daily basis or for an extended period of time. While itβs easy to dress in the colors of the planet of the day, the key to planetary remedies is intention and conscientious alignment. While it is best to get personalized remedies based on your own birth chart, my free planetary remedies download can support you to align with the planets in a general way, and to dive deeper into working with their energies in your daily life. This list is not exhaustive, but does focus on what is accessible to most people.
Abhyanga:
Ayurvedic Oil Massage
An Ayurvedic self massage with warm oil before bathing is one of the cornerstones of Ayurveda. It hydrates the skin, supports the nervous system, and helps calm the mind. More importantly, the process is deeply nourishing on many levels. In Sanksrit, even the word for oil - βsnehaβ - also means love. Below is an excellent article by Dr. Claudia Welch with references from the classic Ayurvedic texts on how and when to do abhyanga, its benefits and contraindications. As always check, please with a practitioner to make sure itβs appropriate for you.
Basic Pranayama
βNadi Shodhana, also known as Alternate Nostril Breathing, is a powerful breathing practice with wide reaching benefits. Nadi is a Sanskrit word meaning 'channel' or 'flow' and shodhana means 'purification.' Therefore, nadi shodhana is primarily aimed at clearing and purifying the subtle channels of the mind-body organism, while balancing its masculine and feminine aspects. It is pacifying for all three doshas and is a suitable practice for most anyone. Benefits Nadi Shodhana:
Infuses the body with oxygen
Clears and releases toxins
Reduces stress and anxiety
Calms and rejuvenates the nervous system
Helps to balance hormones
Supports clear and balanced respiratory channels
Helps to alleviate respiratory allergies that cause hay fever, sneezing or wheezing
Balances solar and lunar, masculine and feminine energies
Fosters mental clarity and an alert mind
Enhances the ability to concentrate
Brings balance to the left and right hemispheres of the brainβ

Basic Ayurvedic Guidelines for Nutrition
Incompatible food combining: Link and FREE DOWNLOAD
Often times we unknowingly eat foods that do not digest well together, for example: yogurt and fruit, or milk and eggs. This βincompatible food combiningβ can contribute to indigestion right away, and potentially to other health issues in the future since so many imbalances take root in the GI tract. While it is best to have a proper Ayurvedic consultation with an experienced practitioner, this basic Ayurvedic principle of what not to eat together is a simple way we can all better support our digestive health right away. Save or print out the FREE DOWNLOAD Incompatible Food Combining PDF below for your kitchen. Read further on the subject with the link provided.
