New Moon in Vishakha Nov 13, 2023 4:27am ET: What Are You Choosing?

This New Moon is in Vishakha, a degree of sidereal Libra, whose name in Sanskrit means “forked” or “with many branches.” This “star of purpose” is turning our attention to the path emerging in the next stage on our journey. It’s a beautiful sign that reminds us that anything worth doing takes patience, determination, and commitment. The 2nd pada of Vishakha connects to the planet Venus and encourages us to find ways to be more connected and creative, and perhaps to compromise some.

Vishakha is usually powerful, clear in its intentions and expression. Its shadow side, however, is it can be an overachiever, trying to do too many things at once. This can result in expectation, disappointment, exhaustion, and discord as Vishakha can easily take on the role of director/dictator. This shadow side is more likely to show up now than other times as the Moon is sitting with and across from planets who tend to not think before they leap, act first and apologize later. Knowing this eagerness/self-centeredness is present, it is especially important now to make decisions mindfully, purposefully, and to honor your pace and that of those you collaborate with.

Vishakha is ruled by the deity Agni, who has prominently been showing up over and over again these recent weeks and months. When Agni (fire/digestive fire) presents, it reminds us to focus on our ability to digest what’s on “our plates” – physically, emotionally, spiritually. Ayurveda says: when life gets hectic, go simple. As Vishakha governs the stomach and the liver, we bring out attention to supporting these organs. We can’t control everything that ends up on our plates in life, but we can keep our diets and daily routines simple, digestible and in alignment.

To consider:

🔥What’s on your plate? Do you even want to engage with it all?

🔥How’s your agni/internal fire? Is it strong? Does it need kindling? Are you overloaded? Or keeping up?

🔥Are you at a crossroad?

🔥What changes are presenting? Are they strong or subtle?

🔥What’s your vision?

🔥How will it help you? Others?

🔥Do you have faith in yourself? In your path/vision? Courage? Patience?

 :::PEACE:::
