June 29, 2026 at 19:58 ET: Full Moon in Purva Ashadha: Keep it Going, Keep it Flowing
The June Full Moon will be in a supportive degree of sidereal Sagittarius called Purva Ashadha, “the invincible star.” This sign has strong intuition, is philosophical, insightful, inspiring. Ruled by Venus and Jupiter, the “planetary coaches,” it’s naturally tuned in to others and their needs. This generous “cosmic cheerleader” is genuinely supportive of others and makes efforts to ensure all “win,” which brings opportunities for personal development and developing interpersonal skills, often coming from facing challenges with patience, flexibility and cooperation. (Note that ruling planets Venus and Jupiter are sitting in the Moon’s own sign of Cancer, so there’s a strong understanding of the need for nurturing and a natural uplifting that’s happening. In fact, all of the planets are leading us back to the exchange between Jupiter and the Moon.)
Following the New Moon in the Searching Star that set us on our new paths, this Full Moon in Purva Ashadha gives the shakti or power to energize and invigorate, making this is a good opportunity to encourage others, to give yourself well-deserved recognition, and to keep moving with determination and enthusiasm. Being aspected by Mars and Saturn infuses this moment with the stamina and persistence needed to stay the course. One caveat: Mercury is retrograde (June 29-July 23), so leave space to reflect and redirect if needed.
One symbol of this Purva Ashadha Moon is the winnowing basket: a traditional tool that helps remove the wheat from the inedible chaff and dust. Another is the fan, which gently combats the heat. Ruled by Varuna the lord of the oceans, and Apas the goddess of cosmic waters, we’re reminded of the importance of being in the flow and to actively purge what isn’t healthy or helpful. The water connected to this sign tend to be contained waters such as rivers, lakes, wells or even tanks, which can become easily polluted. It is important during these weeks to take care of our own internal waters by prioritizing the processing of any stagnation within our emotions or our lymphatic system.
If possible, be near water or simply take a bath on the Full Moon. Work with the lymphatic system to help any stuck “waters” flow again. Move your body in a fluid way so the “issues in the tissues” can work themselves out… and so the path forward can open and flow with greater ease. A mild cleanse, dry brushing, Gua sha and abhyanga (self massage) are some helpful tools. Most importantly, this Full Moon is reminding us to keep cool and stay hydrated. Cucumber, coconut water, watermelon, and lime are all considered cooling and hydrating. (See the Ayurvedic dietary guidelines for more. For ex: melons are meant to be “eaten alone or left alone”: https://www.lexneon.com/resources)
And stay calibrated to what is in the flow for you.
To consider:
🏹What does “being in the flow” look like in your daily life?
🏹Where do you feeling stuck, stagnant?
🏹What needs purifying?
🏹What’s your vision for yourself? For your community?
🏹Where are you pointing your arrow?
🏹What steps are you taking on your immediate path?
🏹What’s on your horizon?
