Dec 12, 2023 at 18:32 eastern time: New Moon in Jyeshtha, sidereal Scorpio: Protector Against Injustices

The New Moon will be in a degree of sidereal Scorpio called “Jyeshtha,” the elder and the dragon slayer of the nakshatras (Vedic signs). Its ruling deity is the brave and powerful Indra, the King of the Gods, whose name means “possesses rain.” He carries a lightning bolt, brings with him storms and the ability to fight off evil. Its symbols are the physical and energetic protectors against the “storms”: the umbrella and the talisman. This New Moon’s strong suit is to confront and release fears, protect those who need it most, and to be mindful of the power we wield as abuse of power is possible with this sign, as is a fall from grace.

This New Moon is sitting with the fiery planets Mars and the Sun who are always ready to leap into action. This combination of planets in sidereal Scorpio causes us to feel deeply about the injustices we witness and make us want to take action accordingly. As Jyeshtha is the one Vedic sign that connects directly to politics, we are likely to see more protests and activists gathering.

An interesting point to consider: this New Moon is in the same sign as the June 2023 Full Moon (worth it to revisit this forecast: https://www.lexneon.com/forecasts/full-moonsaturday-june-3-2023-1143-pm-eastern-timein-sidereal-scorpio-jyeshtha-the-fearless-protector). Perhaps some areas in your life are back up for reflection and realignment. Mercury retrograde (Dec 13-Jan 1) will start in Sagittarius and roll back into Scorpio and into Jyeshtha Dec 28, 2023-Jan 7, 2024. There will surely be more revealed in our lives and in the news cycle around this protective/potentially power-hungry sign.

New Moon prompts:

·      Are you protecting anyone or anything?

·      What are you in the process of releasing?

·      What storms are you weathering?

·      Are you coming from a place of love, or a love of power?

·      Are you living from a place of joy? Or fear/distrust and the need to control?

·      What practices are you doing to fortify your being?

 :::PEACE:::
