October 21, 2025 at 8:25am ET: New Moon in Libra in Chitra – Merit in Our Plans and Paths
The New Moon will be in the early degrees of sidereal Libra, in the sign of Chitra, the “Star of Opportunity.” Its name means “brilliant” in Sanskrit. Linked to the pearl, the sparkling gem, and the tiger, Chitra is magnetic—drawing attention without effort.
This New Moon is governed by Tvashtar (Vishvakarma), the Celestial Architect who built the gods’ palaces and forged their divine weapons, including Shiva’s trident and Indra’s thunderbolt. He’s responsible for shaping the human form itself, chiseling illusion away, stripping distractions, and reminding us that discomfort often reveals our hidden brilliance.
Chitra’s beauty lies in its drive toward authenticity, truth and gaining merit through good work. Though easily enchanted by the “maya” of appearances, it ultimately seeks inner radiance over outer glamour. Like a shell of a pearl that must be cracked open to reveal its core, this Chitra Moon asks us to do the hard inner work that uncovers what’s real and enduring within.
Tvashtar teaches that every strong creation begins with a plan. Like temple blueprints, we must lay a solid foundation, starting with the body. Ayurveda reminds us that “anna maya kosha,” the physical sheath, must be nourished daily. Self-care, nutrition, and lifestyle habits that sustain our vitality are essential now. Habits that deplete us are ready to be released; those that strengthen us, reinvigorated. (See resources page for Ayurvedic support: https://www.lexneon.com/resources)
We are in a phase now of planning, sculpting, and refining. This New Moon, guided by Chitra and Tvashtar, invites us to cut away distractions, align with authenticity, and let our true light emerge. The New Moon sits with and receives aspects from dynamic planets eager for growth and momentum. Yet Jupiter’s brief return to Cancer reminds us: outward expansion can only come once we’ve honored the body. The structures we create this lunar cycle will endure if we keep returning home to ourselves. Our bodies - our personal temples - must be strong enough to hold what we’re building.
Questions to Consider:
• What illusions or distractions (maya) are present in your life?
• What are they be keeping you from?
• Have you been nourishing your body?
• What kind of movement best supports you now?
• What creation is underway? What are you planning and building?
• Are you strengthening your self-belief so your inner gem can shine?
