New Moon Purva Phalguni 24°11 Leo Sept 10, 2026 23:26 ET: Intention / Outcome

The New Moon will be in a beautiful degree of sidereal Leo called Purva Phalguni, a Vedic sign ruled by the Sun, Venus and Bhaga, the god of good fortune and marriage, that wants us to move and dance, lean into our self-expression, and most importantly love, connect and create. This New Moon, whose symbols are the hammock and the marriage bed, reminds us that this is also how we heal: by resting, by being present and in tune with the rhythms around us and within us, by activating and strengthening the vagus nerve, and by celebrating with our soul tribe. Purva Phalguni is not just about the party; it’s about seeing the beauty within and celebrating that. We each deserve this.

This New Moon also brings the focus to the fruits of our labor – but more importantly to the “gunas” or qualities of the preceding efforts as these give birth to the outcome. Take a moment to think about this: what were / are the energies, attitudes, and motivation for the journey you’ve been on / are beginning?

The underlying purpose of this sign is to open the channels and to forge a creative union. When in its element, Purva Phalguni embodies joy, excitement, celebration, and ultimately unity and (pro)creation. When out of kilter, it can be unmotivated, arrogant and spiteful. What has been more prevalent for you lately?

This New Moon is also sitting with Ketu: the South Node of the Moon that connects to our past life gifts and karmas, our trust as well as our doubt, our intuition and inner pull. It’s also connected to mysticism and dissolution. This Moon-Sun-Ketu combo is asking of us is to recall what makes us happy, what brings us joy, what pulls us from within without logic or reason, to sincerely hold it all in the moment… and know it can leave us tomorrow. It’s asking us to be here now - completely and gratefully, without attachments.

The Ketu connection can bring back things from our past, whether they are returning as a happy memory and reminder, or for a final goodbye. We can embrace the Ketu influence on this New Moon and think about what has brought us joy in the past, what feels like sunshine to our souls, or what simply feels effortless - and then we can do more of this, even if it’s just for a little while. Ketu also heightens our intuition, putting the spotlight on this New Moon’s focus of being fully present and trusting our inner voice.

Remember: New Moons are times for planting seeds and setting goals. As we are coming out of an intense eclipse month where we had big/ bombshell news and realizations, the path forward may look different than originally planned. While it can be hard to pivot when we’re feeling down or burdened by what’s next, this New Moon is asking us to do some basic things: remember what fills us with joy, what is worth celebrating, who our people are… and with all of this, can we stand fully present and full of love - without expectation or ego - and just be here now?

To consider, in addition to the questions throughout the forecast:

  • What brings your joy?

  • Are you being creative?

  • What are you giving birth to?

  • Are you trusting your inner voice?

  • Are you in the flow? Or swimming against the current?

  • Are you feeling strongly attached to people, feelings, stories, expectations?

  • What old identity or ego-attachment is ready for release?

  • How are your relationships?

  • What’s coming back from the past for a revisit? Can you identify why it’s returned?

  • What / who feels worthy of celebration? Can you follow through with this and celebrate?

  • What are you excited about?

:::PEACE:::
