New Moon in Sidereal Gemini Ardra June 25, 2025 at 6:31am ET: STORMS/RENEWAL

The New Moon will be in sidereal Gemini, sitting with the Sun and Jupiter, all in the fierce Vedic sign Ardra, meaning “moist” in Sanskrit. Ardra is ruled by Rudra, a wild form of Shiva known as the god of storms and howling winds. Just as storms come to tear down and wash away the old, Ardra makes us face discomfort and offers new growth. Its symbols of the teardrop and the drop of sweat remind us that emotions and effort help clear the path of past blockages. The upside is the moisture we create through this arduous work waters the dry earth so new beginnings can emerge. Ultimately, Ardra is about endings and rebirth, about facing challenges and shining as brightly as we can, about becoming a brilliant gem after a time of compression.

With Mercury and Rahu (the North Node) as its planetary rulers, Ardra is a sign of heightened passions and sharp intellect: a double-edged sword capable of doing hard things and speaking hard truths. While it’s a skilled communicator, Ardra’s words may cut too sharply if left unchecked; let’s be mindful of how things are said around this intense Moon. Moreover, the New Moon is exchanging signs with Mercury (the planet of communication and connection) highlighting the importance of taking a pause to check in with our thoughts and emotions so we respond rather than react.

Rahu is also connecting with this Moon, and thankfully so is Jupiter. When these two come together, they can be visionaries giving us bold ideas. But they can also be (inadvertently) reckless in their eagerness, rushing ahead while bypassing the steps needed to make a plan successful long term. Saturn is still strong, as always, encouraging us to put pen to paper and map out our dreams. This combo influencing this Moon can help us propel forward as long as we do so with respect and honor, and a healthy dose of letting go. Jupiter offers protection, wisdom, hope and mentoring. Rahu helps us think way outside the box, but needs reminders to ground and come back home. Mercury gives us deeper connection within, and makes sure we are speaking from our minds *and* hearts. If we’re able to access these planets’ more heightened expressions, we can focus their influences on this New Moon and move mountains in our own lives and our communities.

To Consider:
💧How do you feel about change and upheaval?

💧 Where do your words turn sharp? Breathe first — can you express truth more authentically?

💧What passion has been stirring? Have you planned it out or acted on it yet?

💧What old story is ready to dissolve? Will this require effort? Or bring up tears?

💧What new aspect of you is asking to be born?
