Full Moon Sept. 29, 2023 at 5:58am ET in Uttara Bhadrapada: Patience and Perseverance, with a Healthy Side of Compassion

This Full Moon is in the fierce yet sensitive sign Uttara Bhadrapada, a degree of sidereal Pisces meaning “the latter blessed” in Sanskrit. It’s a fascinating and complex sign, symbolized by the back legs of the funeral cot and is ruled by the deities Agni (the god of fire) and Ahirbudhnya (the serpent of the deep, whose name translates to “unblemished” and “foundation”). Like a superhero, it embodies a sense of calm, heightened intuition, and kindness with the warrior-like abilities necessary to fearlessly walk through the fire.

This Full Moon is offering us the strength we need to lean into the discomfort – our personal fires, so to speak – in order to burn the ego and the challenges we believe we are attached to in life. This sign is empathetic, understanding this work is not easy. Being ruled by Saturn and Jupiter (the third eye and crown chakra planets), this Full Moon in Uttara Bhadrapada knows there’s no way around it – the difficulty, discomfort, the karma – only through it. And so it readies itself for its inner battle, a fight against the expectations we have and the egos we cling to, knowing they do not serve personal evolution or the higher good.

This Full Moon sign tells us that having patience is critical. This has been difficult for many the last few months as we’ve been working with very eager Rahu and Jupiter Retro in Aries, who have been pushing us for months to get things done yesterday! But Saturn and the other retrogrades haven’t let us take this kind of impulsive action. This inability to get the wheels on the ground has been frustrating for many and has resulted in some very negative self-talk and even giving up. This powerful and steady Full Moon, being influenced by Mars in Virgo, is coming along to remind us to take calculated actions as we move towards our goals. Things meant to last take time.

To consider:

What’s the fire or discomfort you’re facing or walking through?

Do you feel scared? Strong? Tired? Proud? Ready?

Have you been angry or patient with yourself lately?

What is the new foundation you’re creating?

:::PEACE:::
