Jyotish, the “Science of Light,” is a sister science of Ayurveda and has been used for thousands of years as a guide to healing and as a tool for insight. In this class, we will cover the basics of Jyotish (or Vedic Astrology), including the houses, planets, signs, and the nakshatras (the “lunar mansions” or 27 signs that are specific to Jyotish), the dashas (planetary periods you live your life through), the karmic relevance of Rahu and Ketu (the north and south nodes of the moon), and how to discover your dharma (your purpose or path) from your chart. We will also learn how to draw up a chart, and will learn some basics of reading a chart. No previous knowledge of astrology is necessary. Class fee includes a print out of your birth chart and dasha chart. Please include your full birth name, date, time, and place of birth when registering for this workshop.
